Terms of Service

These Terms and Conditions are effective immediately. Royalty Housekeeping is a locally operated small business and has been serving the East Bay for over 20 years. We are licensed, bonded and insured and our employees are professionally trained and vetted.

By hiring Royalty Housekeeping you agree to be the party responsible for full payment, communication and complying with all policies, upholding this agreement and satisfaction guarantee procedures. Third party involvement is not recognized by Royalty Housekeeping.

Communicate with us!

  1. If you have any questions or concerns about your cleaning service, please call or text us at (925) 257-4333. We have a dedicated customer service representative to assist you and who will make every reasonable effort to provide you with a highly professional cleaning service.

  2. One way you can help us provide you with a top quality service is your ongoing feedback. Please fill out your survey after every visit to help us continually improve the quality you receive. The cleaning techs receive incentives based on their quality scores and return rate.

Getting your home ready:

  1. Have your home picked up and ready to be cleaned. Hourly charges may be incurred if cleanings require more time if your home is not ready to be cleaned or if a job is underestimated due to the condition of the home such as clothes and shoes thrown everywhere or blocked hallways with clutter. 

  2. Please notify all guests about our arrival and that we may need access to their space.

  3. Please notify the cleaners when you have guests or any unknown person in your home so that we won’t be surprised if a stranger walks out of a room.

Preparing Children and Pets:

  1. For safety reasons, please see that children are supervised while we are cleaning your home.

  2. We love animals! However, if they are aggressive, we ask that you have them kenneled, in a room that we are not cleaning, or outside when we arrive. Royalty Housekeeping and its staff reserve the right to leave the premises if a pet exhibits aggressive behavior, and you will be charged the full price of your cleaning. Royalty Housekeeping will not be held responsible for the behavior of any pet(s) while the cleaning service is being performed.

Accessing Your Home:

  1. Please provide an accurate door code, lockbox code, or ensure someone is home to let the cleaners inside. 50% of the service price will be charged if we are unable to access your home. This covers the time and gas used to travel to the location.

  2. Turn off alarm systems. If you choose to leave the alarm armed, we are always diligent and careful to disarm and rearm the alarm according to your instructions. However, we will not be held responsible for false alarms or misuse of the alarm system.

  3. Additionally, you agree to hold harmless and/or release from liability Royalty Housekeeping from any and all liability relating to any failure of the alarm or improper arming of the alarm.

  4. Allow full access to the home. Our cleaners perform their work in a specific order to ensure efficiency and thoroughness. If you need to direct our technicians to clean certain areas first or in a different order, this may add additional time to your cleaning. We are happy to accommodate this, but please communicate this ahead of your cleaning so we can schedule the extra time. Any additional time accrued will be charged at our current hourly rate.

Estimate/Quotes:

  1. Estimates are based on the information provided by the client. If the conditions are dirtier or more cluttered than indicated, we cannot guarantee the job will be completed within the quoted time. You will have the option to increase your budget, reschedule for a time when the service can be completed properly, or have us leave the job.

  2. If you request changes to your service after receiving your original estimate, additional charges may apply, or a new estimate may be required.

  3. We may decline the job if our crew arrives and determines that the cleaning required exceeds the level of service we can provide. In such cases, we will contact you, and there will be no charge.

We require at least 24-hour notice for reschedules or cancellations.

  1. For any service or client, if you need to reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. We request at least 24 hours notice before your scheduled service. The first same-day rescheduling will be free, but subsequent instances will incur a $30 fee. Last-minute rescheduling or cancellations often leave our housekeepers waiting in-between jobs, and the business must still compensate workers for this time. Thank you for your understanding!

Paying for Services:

CHECK, CASH, VISA/MASTERCARD, and BANK TRANSFERS are all acceptable forms of payment.

  1. A $45 service charge will be added to all NSF checks. If payment via check is not received on the day of the cleaning, your credit card will be charged. No exceptions.

  2. Declined cards and unpaid balances will incur a $25 service charge.

  1. A verbal agreement to begin service indicates acceptance of the Service Agreement and permission to charge your credit card through the Vcita platform. Hourly cleanings will be charged based on the full amount of time spent at your home. Quoted rates are estimates and are subject to change.

Tipping:

A tip is neither expected nor required. It is completely optional and at your discretion.

Protecting Your Valuables:

  1. If asked to dust/clean inside of china cabinets or hutches, clean small computer equipment, antiques or collections, or use your equipment (e.g., vacuum), you agree to hold harmless and/or release from liability Royalty Housekeeping and/or any of its employees from responsibility for any damage or breakage to any article or component.

  2. We will make every effort not to break items, but accidents do happen. Identical replacements will be attempted but are not guaranteed. It is for this reason that we avoid cleaning requests for irreplaceable or sentimental valuable items.

  3. Damage must be reported to our staff by phone or email within 2 business days of service, or Royalty Housekeeping may not be held liable.

  4. Royalty Housekeeping cannot be responsible for damage due to faulty and/or improper installation, lack of maintenance, or general wear and tear of any items.

Scheduling Other Service Providers:

  1. Due to safety and security considerations, please do not schedule other home service providers when we are scheduled to clean if you are not present to supervise them. Royalty Housekeeping will not let anyone into your home.

  2. We will not be responsible for any re-cleaning if another service provider is present when we clean your home. Client activities or the activities of other home service providers that result in a request to re-clean an area already cleaned by our technicians will incur an additional fee.

Protecting Our Employees:

  1. Housekeepers are unable to climb on ladders higher than a two-step ladder to perform their work. They are also unable to move heavy objects or furniture over 30 lbs for their protection and safety.

  2. Due to OSHA regulations, our staff will not handle any type of animal or human waste, including vomit, blood, or body waste.

  3. Due to sanitary and hygiene cross-contamination concerns, we are unable to clean in areas or homes with live infestations (maggots, fleas, roaches, bedbugs, etc.) until the issue has been mitigated.

  4. We will not remove excess mold and mildew outside of the shower, as it can become a safety hazard if mold is excessive.  

  5. We ask that you refrain from smoking cigarettes, marijuana, or any other substances inside the home when cleaners are present.

Rate Adjustments:

To meet your needs and ensure your satisfaction, Royalty Housekeeping reserves the right to reevaluate rates at any time.

100% Satisfaction Guarantee:

  1. If you think any area that is within the scope of work is not clean or cleaned well, we will re-clean it for free if notified within 24-hours after your service. We cannot guarantee a re-clean if it has been over 24-hours. Please contact us as soon as possible.

  2. We are unable to guarantee the cleanliness of the home when using your products, supplies, or equipment.

  3. We are not able to offer cash refunds or discounts for poor quality on the original bill in place of a re-clean.

Non-Solicitation of Royalty Housekeeping Employees.

When entering into an agreement for services with Royalty Housekeeping, you agree not to solicit for hire any staff member introduced to you by Royalty Housekeeping for any home-related services. We invest significant time, money, and resources in finding, interviewing, checking references and backgrounds, and training our cleaners. 

When hired, each housekeeper signs an agreement barring them from performing any home-related service for our past or present customers. However, if you do wish to employ a staff member directly, please discuss this matter with our office. If you are found to have solicited one of our staff, please be advised that legal action may be taken.
